DAY 17 - THE COMMUNITY THAT TURNED THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN

Aug 26, 2026

THE WORD

"These who have upset the world have come here also."—Acts 17:6

THE BURDEN

That was not a compliment. It was an accusation. The people of Thessalonica were alarmed because everywhere the early church went—cities were disrupted, cultures were confronted, and nothing stayed the same. They didn't have buildings, budgets, or political influence. They had the Holy Spirit and each other.

And they turned the world upside-down.

This is what happens when the Gospel moves through community. One person sharing their faith is powerful. But a community of people living sent together—praying together, going together, believing together—is unstoppable. The early church didn't do life in isolation and then occasionally show up to a service. They were woven together in such a way that their common life became their greatest witness. At BRAVE Church, we call these communities Cadres.

The person you are praying for doesn't just need to hear the Gospel from you. They need to encounter a Cadre that looks like nothing else on earth. A group of people who love each other fiercely, serve sacrificially, and welcome outsiders warmly. That kind of community doesn't just share the Gospel—it demonstrates it.

You and your prayer partner during these 21 days are a small picture of that. Don't underestimate what God can do when even two people are fully committed to each other and to the mission.

THE PRAYER

Lord, make us the kind of community that disrupts everything around us for the sake of Your Kingdom. Let the person I am praying for encounter not just my words, but the life of a community that looks like You. Use us together to turn our corner of the world upside-down. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The name I am praying for:

FOR YOUR PRAYER PARTNER

Talk about one way you can pursue the person you are praying for together—not just individually. Pray together for a divine moment where they encounter not just one of you but the community of Christ through both of you.
