DAY 19 - MAKE DISCIPLES, NOT JUST CONVERTS

Aug 28, 2026

THE WORD

"I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some. I do all things for the sake of the gospel, so that I may become a fellow partaker of it."—1 Corinthians 9:22–23

THE BURDEN

Paul wasn't trying to win an argument—he was trying to win a person. There is a massive difference between those two things.

Winning an argument produces a defeated opponent; winning a person produces a disciple. Paul was willing to lay down his preferences, his comfort, and his rights to become whatever was necessary to reach whoever was in front of him. Not because he compromised the Gospel—but because he loved people enough to meet them where they were.

This is the heartbeat of discipleship. It doesn't end the moment someone prays a prayer of salvation—it begins there. The Great Commission was never just "go make decisions"—it was go make disciples. People who follow Jesus, who are baptized, who are taught, who are shaped into the image of Christ over a lifetime of obedience.

The person you are praying for doesn't just need a moment of conversion. They need someone who will walk with them after. Someone who will open the Word with them, pray with them, and show them what it looks like to follow Jesus every day. They need what you have been doing in this journal for nineteen days—and someone to do it with them.

Be willing to be that person.

THE PRAYER

Lord, give me a vision that goes beyond a single conversation. Let me see the person I am praying for not just coming to faith but growing in it—becoming a fully devoted follower of Jesus who influences others for the Kingdom. Make me willing to walk with them for as long as it takes. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The name I am praying for:

FOR YOUR PRAYER PARTNER

Talk together about what it would look like to disciple the person you are praying for after they come to faith. Who would walk with them? Where would they plug in? Pray together that God would prepare you now for the moment that is coming.
