Choosing to Serve God Today
Choosing to Serve God Today
I believe that by God’s grace, if He has called you to Himself in salvation, He has the power to transform every area of your life. Maybe you feel like you’ve made mistakes or you’re stuck, but God is ready to meet you right where you are.
Our passage today comes from Joshua 24:14-15, where Joshua calls the people of Israel to choose whom they will serve. He says, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” This is a powerful declaration and a reminder that we all have choices to make in our walk with God.
Here are five choices we can make today to experience God's work in our lives:
1. Choose to Remember God's Faithfulness
Take time to reflect on all the ways God has been faithful to you. It’s easy to focus on what we don’t have or what hasn’t happened yet, but when we pause and thank God for His blessings, our hearts shift toward gratitude. Remember, every good and perfect gift comes from Him.
2. Worship and Serve the Lord Jesus Christ
Worship isn’t just about Sunday morning; it’s a lifestyle. Choose to make worship a priority in your life, whether you’re married, single, young, or old. Men, lead your families to church every week and show them that God comes first.
3. Love and Forgive One Another
The love and forgiveness we’ve received from Jesus are meant to be shared with others. Let’s choose to extend grace to our spouses, children, friends, and even those who have wronged us. Remember, love never fails, and forgiveness sets us free.
4. Obey the Truth Wholeheartedly
God’s Word is our guide, even when it’s challenging. Are you willing to follow Him fully, even when it’s uncomfortable? Obeying God’s truth opens the door to His blessings in our lives.
5. Choose Honesty and Authenticity Over Shame
Many of us carry shame, hiding parts of ourselves that we’re afraid others might judge. But God’s grace is greater than our shame. In Christ, we are set free, so let’s live authentically, trusting that His love covers all.
As we wrap up today, let’s remember that we have a choice to make: whom will we serve? God invites us to serve Him with our whole hearts, trusting that His grace will cover us in every area of our lives. Thank you for being part of our Brave Church family. Let's continue to support, love, and serve one another as we grow in Christ.
